Videos: Zone of the Enders HD Collection Anubis Opening

With the Zone of the Enders HD Collection set for release next month, Konami are beginning to start their endgame PR push. Part of this is the release of the HD version of Anubis’ opening (linked below). This is the exact same opening that was on the 2003 PS2 game, so they’ve basically re-done the exact same game capture footage from the new HD version. Whilst that may sound trivial, it’s really very not. That aside, it did make us feel that this generation hasn’t really done very much when a game from 2003, that we didn’t overly enjoy in the first place, made us feel excited just from its opening movie.

I LOVE the Zone of the Enders series. Well, ZOE2 much moreso than 1. I can’t wait for this collection!!

Ouch. Harsh dig. Pretty accurate, but still…
I loved Zone of the Enders….but this seems like a bit of a cop-out, don’t you think?
Is THIS the future of gaming that we have to look forward to? I can’t think of many other things that are made for entertainment that takes so much effort to construct, and yet the sentiment and the idea in it’s entirety is lazy; the first iteration of this game was fine. It’s only fault was that it was too short, the story could be finished too quickly…there was never, in MY mind, a surplus of people saying “If only it looked cleaner.”
No amount of higher frame-rate, polished up-yet recycled textures, or added “shaky cam” will reinvent this game. For a price tag of this caliber, are we getting our money’s worth? I don’t think this is worth it, and hell, I’m a fan.
You get two games for the price of one,seems pretty worth it. I think your confusing “HD remake” and “remake from the ground up” though.
It suddenly hit me while watching this that the Vagan suits in Gundam AGE remind me of ZoE’s aesthetic. I mean, just watch this and then look at the Zedas http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/age/xvv-xc.htm You guys see it too, right?
