Following the announcement of an X2 toy, soon to be released in September, we now also have news of a new toy release. That of the plucky XM-X3 (F97) Crossbone Gundam X3. Unlike the X2, the X3 will be a webshop exclusive sadly. Priced at 5,616 yen and released in February next year, the pre-orders start today. There’s a definite push for more Crossbone Gundam toys though. As we had the Full Cloth, the X1 option parts set and even Harrison’s F-91 released or announced. What’s weird about all this, is that we have already had several Robot Damashii toys released of the various Crossbone Gundam mobile suits (bar the Full Cloth) and those had the ABC mantles too. Anyway, updated releases or not we’re just happy to see more of those classic mobile suits get the Robot Damashii treatment. If only they’d do the decent thing and make an anime already.
Wait, what.
I HAVE the X-3 as a RD. What the hell? Am I going insane?
Oh “updated release”. What’s actually different?
Much better sculpt, slightly bigger, better articulation more accessories.
Alright. Not that the X-3 was bad in articulation or accessories but that’s good to hear. Thanks.
No, they were all super poseable but the newer RD toys since then have been even better. So it seems they are capitalising on that. I guess this is because the Crossbone units are still super popular in Gundam Extreme Versus here.
My question is will they re release Seabook’s X1? I passed on the first release cause I was unfamiliar with it. Read the manga recently and now feel very stupid for missing out on it… X3 is nice for sure, but nothing like Kinkaid’s awesome ass kicking X1.
Sorta, they are releasing an option parts set online for the Full Cloth so you can make the X1 – http://tamashii.jp/item/10705/
Thanks for the link. Gorgeous looking figure, both the Kai and with option parts… Price tag for both together is perhaps too much for me right now though. Oh well.
