In a new update for the upcoming E.X. Troopers there are details on a weapon modification setup. Specifically that you can assign an attribute to a weapon, with these being fire, ice and lightning. Certain enemies in the game are vulnerable to some of these attributes, allowing you to stun them for instance. There are also some interesting reveals regarding Tiki’s background and that her relationship with Bren will bring about some interesting events. The game is still on track for it’s November release in Japan and you can pre-order it here.

A rather brilliant trailer for E.X. Troopers has surfaced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Brilliant in the fact it actually shows some vital suit combat. In short, November is too bloody far away. There’s also news of a pretty cool Monster Hunter crossover (shown above). Something we always felt Lost Planet 2 really tried to do was merge the whole Monster Hunter setup into Lost Planet, so this nod to that is pretty cool. The new trailer is shown below and don’t forget you can pre-order the game here.

News: E.X. Troopers Not To Receive Western Release

If you were wondering why the Western PR for E.X. Troopers hadn’t kicked off yet, well that’s because Capcom aren’t planning on release the game outside of Japan. So whilst we will be getting the decidedly meh Lost Planet 3, the only way gamers will be able to play E.X. Troopers is by importing it. This is something we will be doing at the end of November. If you plan on doing likewise, then you can buy the game here. Regardless, this news is just wholly depressing and reinforces our opinion that publishers are gutless bell ends.

4Gamer has a new update on E.X. Troopers, showing off its new trailer (shown below). It has a small bit on the Academy aspect of the game, which may be a bit of issue for those who want to import and don’t read Japanese all that well. However, the subsequent combat sections look great and show off the co-op elements really nicely. Whilst the Lost Planet games have always had a bit of a Monster Hunter vibe, especially the second, this feels very much geared towards working together with friends rather than being the archetypal lone hero. We’ve still yet to see any player VT combat, so we’re hoping that will be shown soon.

Over at 4Gamer they have a piece on the VR Missions in E.X. Troopers. These are meant as battle simulations whilst you are at the Academy. The cool thing about them though is that not only can you bring AI characters along to help out but also human players to. Naturally on the PS3 this is dealt with online but on the 3DS it’s only a local (ad hoc) multiplayer setup. Still it’s a nice touch and we’re getting more and more excited for the game’s November release.

Over at 4Gamer they have details on various versions of the forthcoming E.X. Troopers. From the standard to the limited editions of the game, with the latter coming with a lovely figure of Tikki. What’s also very interesting is that the game will be released simultaneously on both the 3DS and PS3. Bar that, there’s also a lovely new anime trailer as made by those special people at Satelight and the song you can hear is also performed by May’n. The full trailer is shown below and as always it only makes us want the game that much more.

Following on from our previous Revoltech Jehuty and Revoltech Jehuty (Anubis Version) reviews, our good friends at HobbyLink Japan have sent us the Revoltech Jehuty with Vector Cannon. This being the special super weapon of sorts that Jehuty acquires towards the end of Anubis. Due to the fact it already uses the base Jehuty figure, we’ve only covered the new Vector Cannon elements. In addition, we’ve also included some game footage at the end of the review.

There’s a new update for the progressively lovely E.X. Troopers, covering the main Frontier Base it predominantly features less of the snowy environments and more of the greener wildlife. It also shows the new AI character in context. There’s also mention of a pretty moe-tastic figure of Tee Kee that will be available at the forthcoming Wonder Festival. We really love the look of this game and are seriously interested in getting to finally play it too.

The official site for the forthcoming E.X. Troopers has been updated with some new screenshots (with one shown above) and details on two new characters. The first is W.I.Z. Alpha, an information based AI that helps the player with the demeanor of an older sister, and the second is Diana a teacher at the academy. As always, the more we see of this the game the more we want to play it.

Update: Famitsu has some new screenshots too.

Over at AmiAmi they have a lovely preview of the soon to be released Revoltech Jehuty with Vector Cannon. What’s especially interesting is that there is a nifty mechanism for dropping down the Vector Cannon into firing mode (as shown here). To be honest we were thinking of passing this one by, as we’ve already covered the last two Revoltech Jehuty toys but this looks too cool to pass by. The toy is released on the 15th July for 4,980 yen.
