The recent alpha test for Mobile Suit Gundam Online has been given a full on report, coupled with a pretty interesting in-game video. In short, the game plays like a standard TPS, with WASD and mouse control (something you can pretty much deduce from the video below). Whilst it does look a bit dated what the game is doing technically is no mean feat; as it handles over a hundred online players per match. Our only real concern is the strange and rather excessive use of motion blur, hopefully that will get toned down at some point. Still no news on a release date for this but it’s expected sometime this year.

Both me and my friend with reasonable new computers could not properly play the game.
It would replace every texture with, well, nothing. This rendered the game completely unplayable. We were not using the same PC, internet or patcher.
It just happened to the both of us. I have an AMD 5850 video card.
Anyone with similar issues?
Oh and the patcher is about a stable as Japan’s nuclear reactors.
If you’re not in Japan, how did you get onto the test?
Teehee.
A hiragana/katakana chart and being able to google for kanji.
It’s not like it’s a challenge.
Really looks like, compared especially to the upcoming Battle Operation game, this one is going for scale with simplicity in a way I rather like.
It almost seems like a giant robot version of MAG, and that could be very, very good (or it could be a giant robot version of MAG).
