Nintendo has provided a huge update to their Xenoblade Chronicles X website with a plethora of information about Dolls. From videos showing how the dolls can traverse the huge open world, how they can battle the dangerous beasts found on the planet and what looks to be an Armored Core-esque level of mecha customization, we get to see even more depth regarding the awesome mechs of this game. Of course, the music you hear is composed by none other than Hiroyuki Sawano, the man behind the soundtrack of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Visit the website here for more information regarding the different types of Dolls you can use and customize and check out the videos below to see them in action!

The Nintendo Direct video we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived! Monolith Soft recently released a comprehensive video detailing Doll mechanics for the upcoming 2015 WiiU game, Xenoblade Chronicles X. If you don’t already know, Dolls are the titular mecha used in this particular version of the Xeno-based games, like Gears and A.G.W.S. were to Xenogears and Xenosaga respectively. Dolls are used in both combat and exploration in Xenoblade Chronicles X and it looks like there is loads of customization and gameplay to really get the most out of your own mech. Aside from the multitude of weapon loadouts and color schemes you can individually edit, you can even purchase insurance for your mecha parts if they happen to get damaged or destroyed in battle. The video also goes into detail regarding the fuel system and loads of other gameplay bulletpoints that show you Monolith Soft is going all in with the mecha aspect of this game. The video also shows player character interplay with Dolls when you’re not piloting your own and how some of the online interaction with other players will work, to include squad based challenges and quests that end in battling huge monsters called “World Enemies.” This game looking better and better every time they release new info and the western release date in 2015 is becoming more unbearable! Definitely check out the video below that has been translated by Gamechap and explains way more than I can ever write down in this post.

The upcoming port of the classic MegaDrive shoot-em-up Assault Suit Leynos has had its release delayed until December this year, with a demo apparently available sometime in June. We’ve also been given some new game footage and this time in HD. To be honest, the game doesn’t look all that great but this is Dracue and they did the decent Gunhound games. We’re cautiously hopeful that this game will be good and hopefully the extended development time will help facilitate that.

Three new suits will be added this month to Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost, Gundam Harute from Gundam 00: A wakening of the Trailblazer, and Deathscythe Hell and Heavyarms Kai from Gundam Wing TV. The first is essentially a brand new entry in the 3000 category and looks to be much more in line with the fighting style of Allelujah/Hallelujah Haptism with a nice mix of long, mid, and close range attacks. His previous entry with Arios felt too tame both at the 1000 and 2500 cost in Full Boost and Maxi Boost respectively. The next two units are like the clone units we’ve seen come into the fray since Full Boost DLC came into play last year for the Playstation 3 version. Both Deathscythe Hell and Heavyarms Kai are 2000 cost units that appear to have very similar movesets to their Endless Waltz versions with some apparent changes, such as a drop in speed and the inclusion of the Buster Shield attack for Deathscythe Hell and the inclusion of the famous twirling knife melee attack for Heavyarms Kai. It will be interesting to see if the drop in cost and gameplay changes make them formidable, similar to how the Gold Frame Amatsu Mina Custom clone at 2500 cost is well received in comparison to its original 2000 cost version. Hopefully we’ll hear of a home console version soon, but until then check out the teaser videos for each of the units below!

Super Robot Wars Z 3 Tengoku-hen received a new promo over the weekend (shown below) and it’s rather marvelous. From showing off new animations and some of the updated game system, it’s all looking rather great. The absence of Final Dancouga is still admittedly disheartening but there’s a lot of good stuff still present and the addition of Rengoku-hen is a pretty big deal if you’ve been playing this series since the first game on PS2. Set for a release at the beginning of April we’ll be picking this up for sure.

Filling out the Gundam AGE roster slots this month in Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost comes Gundam AGE-3. Piloted by Kio Asemu, the 2500 cost AGE-3 has the usual mode-shift gimmicks found in the show and can switch from Normal to either its Fortress or Orbital armor for tactical variety. As of now, it seems the Orbital version needs a little nerfing as its beam rifle has hilariously ridiculous tracking. But like anything, Bandai Namco have been very astute in attempting to balance the game on a consistent basis. With this addition, perhaps we will see either the AGE-2 Dark Hound or AGE-FX come in the near future! Until then, check out the release trailer for AGE-3 below.

The upcoming Dracue port of the classic Assault Suit Leynos seems to be coming along, as we now have a new gameplay video. They still don’t seem to know how to encode their videos in HD, so the image quality is pretty poor. Functionally it looks comparable to the classic Assault Suits games of old but we’re still not sure on whether it will deliver. Hopefully they’ll get this right, as their Gunhound games have been decent. The game is expected to be released sometime this May.

In today’s Nintendo Direct, a new video was released for Xenoblade Chronicles X. Aside from confirming it will be released in 2015, the video showcased the scale and variety of the explorable world of Mira where you can traverse it either by foot or by mecha. It also provided a bit more background as to why they’ve crash landed on the foreign planet. Here’s to hoping we get much more new info regarding the types of mecha we can use in the game in future updates. Definitely check it out in video below to see it all in action.

Shining Gundam has finally been added to the Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost roster this month after teasing its addition since the game first released. As a 2500 cost unit, Shining Gundam is most definitely a melee type fighter like all of the G Gundam units before it. Its arsenal comes with its famous Shining Finger, Shining Finger Sword, Hyper Mode and many other unique attacks as seen in the anime. What other G Gundam units should make the cut in the future? Check out the video below to see it in action!
