With the release of Super Robot Wars BX looming, we’ve been graced with a new promo. It shows a lot of new animation and the game is looking great really. Bandai Namco also announced a new Super Robot Wars mobile game but that looks pretty awful and isn’t being developed by the main team anyway, in fact it’s being done by Sega Games so that likely explains a lot. Thankfully BX is at least a proper game to look forward to. The game is released on August 20th in Japan and you can pre-order it here.

Following the reveal we now have some initial combat footage for the Platinum Games developed Transformers Devastation. We’re loving the cel shading and the combat looks decent enough too but the whole aerial ramming in vehicle mode looks a bit odd. It will be interesting to see how it will play once it is released in October this year. We’re definitely excited for it though, which is a novel feeling to have for a Transformers games.

The next mobile suits to join the Maxi Boost roster are the Marasai/Gabthley combo from Zeta Gundam. Piloted by Jerid Messa, the 2000 cost unit allows you to switch between the two mobile suits. While the switching mechanic is currently unknown, this isn’t the first suit to allow you to change into different units during a match. The Kapools had a tag mechanic that allowed you to change between what was essentially ranged and melee mode. While that doesn’t appear to be the case in the Marasai/Gabthley combo, we’re sure there will be definite advantages to choosing either suit. Let us know what you think of this addition and be sure to check out the video below!

We were recently graced with all manner of new promo videos for the upcoming Super Robot Wars BX. The first was an hour long conference that covered various things regarding the future of Super Robot Wars (we’re getting an iPhone app apparently) but also got some new footage of BX. This was then released as a separate video, so you don’t need to trawl through the hour long conference.
The game is looking good though and the sprites have been partially updated for the returning series it seems. Though it does feel a bit weird when gaming franchise make their way into these games, as the Macross 30 units squaring off in another game is a bit odd but still cool obviously. The game is released on August 20th and you can pre-order it here.

Amongst the rather amazing selection of games announced at Sony’s PlayStation Briefing at this year’s E3, was the game Rigs. Developed by Guerrilla Cambridge, Rigs is basically an e-sports type first person shooter with mecha. The twist is that it uses the Morpheus VR headset for the PS4. Now I am not sure whether this will be any good but it looks promising at least and the Morpheus setup could result in something interesting. The trailer for the game (shown below) is quite interesting but seems more interested in showing the various facial reactions of the players rather than the game itself. No word on when this will be out but we’ll be keeping our yes on this.

Another Wing Gundam TV suit joins the party in Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost with Tallgeese II. Piloted by Treize Kushrenada, the blue version of the Tallgeese siblings is a 2500 cost unit and looks like it takes moves from Tallgeese I from Next Plus and Tallgeese III. It comes equipped with its famous dobergun and a Lady Une-controlled Wing Gundam as an assist. It’s Burst Attack even has Wing Gundam pushing the Tallgeese II out of Libra’s cannon blast, just like in the show. Check out the video below and let us know what you think of this new addition!

Several new units for Maxi Boost have been announced after the recent 2015 Premium Dogfight. They are Astray Red Dragon (2500 cost) and 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G (3000 cost), both variants of existing units currently in the game being Astray Red Frame and 00 Raiser respectively. Rising Gundam (1500 cost) is also officially being released on the 28th of May and adds another G Gundam fighter to the mix. It’s interesting to see more variants come into play even though Seven Sword/G was already teased in the Maxi Boost intro. Both Seven Sword/G and Astray Red Dragon look to be melee centric units, so it will be interesting to see how well they fall into the current roster with their toolset. Make sure to check out the videos below and let us know which units you’d like to see next!

Bandai Namco have uploaded a new video highlighting the four new DLC suits to appear next week in conjunction with the Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost 1.08 update. The four new units are Full Armor Unicorn Gundam, Avalanche Exia, Sandrock Kai, and Char’s Zaku II. All these units have been brought over from Maxi Boost and will cost 476 yen plus tax. We’ve seen other suits cross over from the sequel as well, so it will be interesting to see how the new units perform in Full Boost. Interestingly enough, both Banshee Norn and ReGZ will be receiving nerfs on the 1.08 update as well due to their rather impressive performance in Full Boost from Maxi Boost, so we’ll see if the new four will be properly balanced too. As Perfect Gundam has already been unintentionally teased in images promoting the new update, we can only wonder what new units will become DLC for Full Boost in the near future. Make sure to check out the video below and let us know what other units should join the fray!

So the next Super Robot Wars game to be announced has the suffix of BX and it will be released again on the 3DS. The last game on the system, in the form of UX, was really solid and so I am glad to see another game on the way. The big surprise is that this entry will feature both Giant Gorg and Panzer World Galient in the series roster. That’s pretty damn fantastic really. The game will be released on August 20th for 6,640 yen and a promo video for the game will go up tomorrow. It’s currently 80% complete in terms of development. For those that are curious as to what the units are in the shadow above, one fan did a nice bit of detective work.

In a rather bizarre way, Bandai Namco have announced Gundam Battle Operation Next for PS4 and PS3. This is indeed the follow up sequel to the previous Gundam Battle Operation game on PS3, that was the first foray into freemium for the series. This is also the much touted PS4 Gundam game that was previewed a good while back, so the fact it turned out to be this is a tad…disappointing. The good news is that this new game seems to follow the Gundam Breaker and Gundam Extreme Versus approach in terms of the high-speed team based action. The game has currently started its beta on the Japanese PSN as of today and will continue running until this Sunday. So jump in while you can and check it out, hopefully it won’t be utterly terrible!
