Following on from the announcement of Macross 30, we now have the teaser trailer that was shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show (linked below). It’s mostly a collection of still shots but it indicates what series will be featured in the game. We’re still guessing that this is an Artdink developed game and that it will be on the PS3 but once we know for sure we’ll let you know. In any case, it was nice to hear Isamu’s voice at the end of the trailer and we’re definitely looking forward to this when it’s released sometime next year.

One of the more interesting games announced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show was that of Gundam Breaker. A new PS3 and Vita game were you control Gundam model kits (or gunpla) in various arenas. The interesting aspect of this was that they not only retained the scales (so you could have a 1/144 scale Gundam facing a 1/60 scale Zaku) but that you could also kitbash the units too. Well, we now have a promo video that shows the game in action and it is quite simply joyous to behold. In addition, it seems that destruction of various gunpla results in their inner plastic workings to be sprayed everywhere, polycap joints and all. As ideas go this is a pretty good one and considering how massively popular gunpla remains in most of Asia, it should appeal to a lot of people. No word on a price point or a release date as yet but as soon as we know more we’ll let you know.

As of today, the mighty GX-9900-DV Gundam X Divider (shown above) and GAT-X102 Duel Gundam (with Assault Shroud armor) have been added to Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost. In addition, the AMA-X7 Shamblo is now present in the game as a boss on the Torrington stage. Videos of the two new playable units are shown below.

A rather brilliant trailer for E.X. Troopers has surfaced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Brilliant in the fact it actually shows some vital suit combat. In short, November is too bloody far away. There’s also news of a pretty cool Monster Hunter crossover (shown above). Something we always felt Lost Planet 2 really tried to do was merge the whole Monster Hunter setup into Lost Planet, so this nod to that is pretty cool. The new trailer is shown below and don’t forget you can pre-order the game here.

Shown on Hideo Kojima’s Twitter account (as well as on Konami’s own Tumblr), we now have the inevitable Revoltech of Naked Jehuty. This being the final form of the orbital frame as seen at the end of Anubis (as shown below). This particular toy is a prototype that will be shown at the forthcoming Tokyo Game Show, so no news yet on a release date or price. As with all the Revoltech Jehuty toys, this is the one we’ve been waiting for and the sculpt and paint job look excellent.

We now have a new Border Break on the way. Effectively Version 3.0, Border Break Union will continue the series and feature new parts and now airborne enemies by the looks of it. There’s a nice shiny new opening movie too (shown below). Interestingly, the game will be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show along with an iOS app. Anyway, we’re just glad that the Border Break games have been doing so well and that SEGA have decided to take them further.

With the Zone of the Enders HD Collection set for release next month, Konami are beginning to start their endgame PR push. Part of this is the release of the HD version of Anubis’ opening (linked below). This is the exact same opening that was on the 2003 PS2 game, so they’ve basically re-done the exact same game capture footage from the new HD version. Whilst that may sound trivial, it’s really very not. That aside, it did make us feel that this generation hasn’t really done very much when a game from 2003, that we didn’t overly enjoy in the first place, made us feel excited just from its opening movie.

Whilst we meant to review the awesome PC version of Gunhound we never got around to it (it is awesome though). However, we now know that there will also be a PSP version released in December of this year called Gunhound EX. Sort of a remake(ish), it’s being co-developed with G.Rev this time. In addition, it will still feature music by the lovely Kinuyo Yamashita as well as new tracks from the pretty mad Hyakutaro Tsukumo. The game will also be released on PSN but a limited edition box set will also come packaged with cels and an all important soundtrack CD. We’ll be picking this up though and definitely reviewing it this time.

As promised, we now have a new and longer promo for 2nd Super Robot Wars OG. It’s very shiny indeed and shows that Banpresto have taken their time with this game for good reason. Much of the new animations use far more depth and three dimensional movement compared to previous games and the technical (as well as art/animation) aspect of that is by no means trivial. Plus, all the new jingling boobage is also something that clearly needed time to perfect. In any case, our body is very ready for this one.
