In the latest issue of Famitsu, yet another Gundam Musou (aka: Dynasty Warriors Gundam) game has been announced. Whilst we’re not overly fond of the games, as they’re functionally Musou games with a mecha based veneer, we do enjoy them nonetheless.
That said, the line-up for this game is pretty thorough (see list below) and prior to a Gundam Extreme Versus port this game may partially satiate our Unicorn Gundam fixation. At present Gundam Musou 3 is scheduled for a Japanese release this Winter on both the PS3 and 360.
Update: Game Watch has covered the fact that this new Musou game will be using a form of cel-shading for the rendering. The official site has also been updated.
Not too much new, but, more importantly will we see more than just 2 key units from the NON-UC series… Only having God/Master and Turn A/X is fairly booooring
Well, with 00 being included tht’s at least got some units that FIT being in a Musou game because of melee preferences aside from the ones in G Gundam.
I’m likely the one person on the planet who is bummed to see that (second season) qualifier to Gundam 00. I want my Exia and GN Flag, gundamnit!
I am excited to see Gundam 00 and Gundam X on there; I felt like the last Gundam Musou game, while having a lot of my favorite MSes, had too many Gundam units with the same equipment: regular beam sword, regular beam blaster. The Gundam 00 units are all really different from “standard” Gundams, and Gundam X (depending on what units they use, and how they use them) could be interesting as well.
I’m in complete agreement on the 00 Second Season disappointment. It wouldn’t kill them to put in some of the units from season one, particularly the Exia (which might get in there anyway as the R2). Arche Gundam would be nice, as it would have some visually impressive four limb attack strings. I just love the designs of the all the season one units overall. Much more distinctive and specialized.
I have to say honestly, I’m excited. I liked the original Musou games, but Gundam Musou has a few little mecha-inspired mechanics, like the boost system and more potent ranged weaponry, that are a good improvement to the series overall, and the crossover elements are interesting to see. Just hope they leave the Japanese track in this time if it gets localized (which it likely will).

I always loved how the Gundam X units in ACE3 and SRWZ were always just a bit too awesome compared to the other units. Hope that trend continues with Musou 3.

Gundam X has a special place in my heart for being something different in the gundam family than taking the same skeleton and making changes to it just to keep it different enough. And the units were just all around cool. XX being an ace in the hole, Leopard as the heavy weapons guy and Airmaster because airsupport is always welcome.
Gundam X havent watched that in some years, been planning to re watch it, ive been quite behind the latest mecha shows so still need to watch them too, but Gundam X is an amazing show for sure, everything about it. In ACE3 I pretty much only play as mecha from that show, but ACE3 has such a great roster anyway.
As for Gundam Musou 3, could care less tbh, not even a real mecha game to me, no doubt this will come out in the west, while Gundam Extreme wont.
And DumDai wonder why Gundam is not popular here since Wing days, when they continue to drop the ball everytime.
Imagine after Wing finished they showed Gundam X, that would have been the right show to gain even more masses.
Meh whats done is done I guess, pity.
I would love to see all the crossbone gundams X1 through X4 including the X10. And also something like a targeting system like in the dynasty warriors games where u go into first person view to aim ur crossbow or bow. Or something like this, but I know it’s highly unlikely they will since it’s a hack and slash game
