Resin kit maker Authorize have created a wonderful and fully transformable kit of Yoji Shinkawa’s design for the Vic Viper LEV from Anubis. Now, we’re not very big fans of the ZOE games but we still adore Shinkawa’s designwork for them (so this kit is very much welcomed).
It’s also worth clarifying that this is resin kit, which means it’s much more fragile than your average injection plastic efforts from either Bandai or Kotobukiya. You need to be a very experienced model kit builder in order to put this together. You can make your order at Tokyo Hunter, but move quickly as orders close tomorrow. The kit will be released on the 7th February for a very affordable 7000 yen and it’s a Wonder Festival 2010 Winter event exclusive.
Hoho, that’s pretty gorgeous. I cry trying to imagine making it myself though, after the trainwreck of trying to assemble the Kotobukiya Fei Yen model. ;_;
I don’t believe the Vic Viper is an Orbital Frame, but rather an LEV. Some random Googling seems to agree:

Orbital Frames were mainly used by the Martian forces, while the Earth-based forces were either trying to develop their own OFs or were using the more primitive LEVs. In a way, the Vic Viper have a transformation makes sense if it’s an LEV, because it’s the Orbital Frames that are able to float with some kind of reactionless drive, while we always see LEVs maneuvering through the use of thrusters. The Vic Viper looks fancy and “glowy” enough to be an Orbital Frame, but apparently it’s just a hyper-advanced LEV that is able to use an amazing array of abilities but somehow without the usual ZoE MacGuffin of metatron.
This is actually an interesting inconsistency, as the Japanese version of Anubis calls the Vic Viper an Orbital Frame in the game itself but the non-game documentation (such as the Visual Works of Anubis) call it an LEV. I’ve corrected the post anyway.
ZOE series is one of my fav mecha games, always wanted some figures/kits, but they only do resin kits for this series it seems, I dont have the skill level to take such a thing on, oh well nice stuff anyway.
