What with less than a week until release, we now finally have the full blown Cross Dimension 0079 promo for Gundam Side Stories. This was the first Gundam Gaiden game and was released back on the SNES, it was also a turn based strategy game. In addition to this, we also have new promos for both Rise from the Ashes and Space, To the End of A Flash. The promos are shown below. You can still pre-order the standard edition here.

Looks nice and all. But really a lost opportunity being lazy to not remake each game to the original gameplay designs. Just screams “We wanted to do this, but Bamco and sunrise are cheap and don’t care…so here you go”
I agree, it’s a real shame.
Or it wasn’t intended to be remake in the first place.
This could be true as well. It’s hard not to think the worst.
Personally I like this direction more. WOuld be kinda hard to make Cross Dimension half as interesting as it was if you kept the gameplay the same with only the Pixie/Efreet storyline intact. The Pixie storyline was a bonus as I understand it.
Honestly while I do get the complaints, think of it this way: they now have a little liberty to detail these conflicts better.
Nobody ever implied, including Bamco, that it would be a straight up remake of all of these titles.
