A new Unreal Engine powered FPS called Hawken has been announced. Whilst no official platforms have been cited, over at the official game’s site the team are keen to release the game on PS3, 360 and PC. The game has been in devlopment for around 9 months already, with a relatively small team. The mecha used are in the similar scale and vein as the Vital Suits in the Lost Planet games, but with a more industrial bent. Interestingly, this will also be yet another digital download title focused around online multiplayer. Visually it all looks suitably sumptuous, but in the trailer below it’s clear the online optimisation still has a way to go.

Wow that looks very good indeed, hopefully it does come to the PC, I will certainly give it a play, wonder how the online mode will be, the level design looks great, and visuals to go with it.
Mecha looks alittle bit steampunkish, but Im assuming you can have custom models perhaps, look forward to more news on this.
YEAH! This is beautiful work! Hope this game happens -these guys are doing everything right.
Saw this on the gamespot forums early this mornin’. Kinda makes me feel bad — makes me feel I should be making my dream mech game too. Ha ha, definitely will be looking forward to this one.
Obvious District 9 influence is obvious.
Was kinda hard to tell at a glance, but it looked like a lot of that was in slow-motion. It could pan out. I could see not doing a third-person view, did you see the smoke plumes coming off those boosters?
If you’ve ever played MechWarrior 4: Mercs, you know that when in third-person, smoke rising from your ‘mech is horribly blinding, and I imagine it would be similaraly when boosting here.
